Light Trails on Tower Bridge
Night shot of traffic crossing Tower Bridge, showing dramatic light trails and giving an impression of speed.
This is a 6 second exposure creating the light trails from the traffic on Tower Bridge, London. The image has had over 5 billion views on Google+ and can be seen on Chromecast.
To get the shot with the trails showing high in the image I was lying in the middle of the road, with the camera almost at road level. It was just infront of a traffic island, so was not as damgerous as it might appear.
The camera was a Sony A6000 which was set to f11 to ensure reasonable sharpness through the depth of the image. ISO 100 was used to allow the long exposure and get maximum quality.

This was an opportunistic shot of a tiny ladybird looking over an edge.
Shot with a Sony A6000 using ISO 800 to get a shutter speed of 1/250, just about enough to hand hold the shot.

Durdle Door
Another photo from the Jurassic Coast trek with Hannah Young. We were so lucky to get the window into the sky for a great sunset. You can see the threatening clouds on the right the we thought would spoil the sunset, but we just made it.

The elegant Tulip Stairs in the Queen's House are the first geometric self-supporting spiral stair in Britain. Although called the 'tulip' stairs, it is thought that the stylized flowers in the wrought-iron balustrade are actually fleurs-de-lis, as this was the emblem of the Bourbon family of which Queen Henrietta Maria (wife of Charles I) was a member.

Man of War Bay
This is Man O'War Bay as seen from the path that leads down to Durdle Door. This is a beautiful stretch of coastline known as the Jurassic coast, in Dorset.
There had been a recent landslide (Spring 2013) that caused the whiteness in the sea near the beach in the middle distance.
Can you believe that this is England and not the Caribbean?
